One of the great benefits of being in the work force for 30 years is you get to have a lot of interesting jobs. Although I wasn’t aware of it, it turns out I’ve been preparing to be a Freelance Copywriter my whole career. When I was a news reporter and photographer for a local television station. I learned the importance of getting the facts straight, constructing a compelling story, and the clarity and focus needed to work under tight deadlines. As a faculty member and producer of medically related educational television programs I learned how to craft messages that speak to and hold the attention of the target audience. When I was a medical association executive I learned how to write direct mail promotions that were dynamic enough to cut through a doctors cluttered mailbox, get his attention and make him act on the offer! I had to create powerful headlines, cutting edge content, an avalanche of benefits and an easy-to-act-on offer to close the deal. As the business manager of a scientific journal I learned what’s important to journal advertisers and then redesigned our media kit and sales marketing materials. These marketing materials generated significant increases in ad revenue. I also learned the value of playing well with others. When you pull together a dynamic group of individuals, challenge them to develop new products and services ideas and provide a supportive environment, good things can happen. The collective wisdom of the group, and the give and take of discussion generally produce superior results. These skills will be important when working with you and your team. I’m a quick study, excellent listener, active participant and team player. My job is to make your job easier. And finally, nothing is more educational and challenging than direct selling. When you are eyeball to eyeball with a prospect you need to be ready to perform in real time. It’s a dialog without cue cards. As with other forms of selling there is a sequence of steps you guide the customer through. In car sales you have to take extra steps to gain the customers trust. After all, who in their right mind would trust a car salesman? As a copywriter and marketing consultant, I get to use all of these skills every day. This is the greatest job I’ve ever had! I love what I’m doing and I hope we have the opportunity to work together in the near future. You can count on me to produce the results you need. Call or email me today to discuss your project.
