1. How do you work, by the hour or by the project?

Generally speaking I work by the project. That means you get a final figure and an agreed upon deadline up front. I won’t change the fee unless the scope of the project changes. For cyclical or ongoing projects I work on a monthly retainer.

2. What are your terms?

Projects with new clients require a 50% deposit with the balance due on completion of the work. I accept company checks and electronic funds transfers thru PayPal.

3. Do you re-use content from other clients?

Never, everything I write is original work crafted for your specific project, audience and company. It is never re-used for other client’s projects.

4. Who owns the copy once you write it?

Once you pay in full for the project, you own it and you retain the copyright. If I write an article or white paper for your company you get the byline. I occasionally request permission from you to retain a copy as a portfolio example.

5. Do you work with competing companies at the same time?

I do not work with competitors of current clients. During our initial discussion any concerns in this area will be fully disclosed and agreed upon. 6. How do you deal with proprietary information? I will sign and abide by a client provided non-disclosure agreement.

7. What are your hours?

I am generally available between 8am-5pm Central time Monday – Thursday, 8am-3pm on Fridays. I observe all major holidays and take a few weeks vacation each year.
